U12 Bombers

The U12 Beantown Bombers' journey begins with Fall Baseball in September. The Fall Program is the primary means for our players to continue playing on the intermediate diamond after their traditional smaller diamond summer travel team experience. We do not conduct traditional "tryouts." Instead, in August the club's coaching team does a review to determine which players shall receive an invitation to join (for the first time) or rejoin from last year's team. U12 Fall Baseball is an 8-week, development and instructive program designed to give players an opportunity to experience work on the intermediate diamond in a laid back atmosphere without the pressure of weekly games or tournaments.

Immediately following Fall Baseball, those players who are accepted to the Spring roster, along with some "continuing candidates," begin regular indoor hitting and fielding sessions. The Bombers utilize cages throughout the entire Metro West. The U12 players increase their on-the-field presence by scrimmaging and receiving instruction on a full-size indoor field at Hit Quarters in Shrewsbury and Sluggers Academy in Medfield. Players are also given the option to work in pairs, receiving private instruction from our coaching staff. Our off-season hitting routines and work on the indoor fields are instrumental in the development of Beantown Bombers hitters and fielders. These workouts are held in January, February, and early March.

The U12 regular season is begins in late March/early April and runs through May. Playoffs begin in early June. Games are played on weekends, and most are doubleheaders. We mix in two spring tournaments as well.  The U12 Beantown Bombers can expect to play between 20-28 games. It is a long and demanding schedule, designed for serious baseball players who wish to be challenged. As many as four coaches work with the U12 Beantown Bombers, including the Wellesley High School Varsity pitching coach.
