U11 Navy Sweep GBG Hawks
The U11 Navy improved to 3-1 in their Division by sweeping the GBG Hawks 10-0 and 5-2 on Sunday in Foxboro. In Game 1, Max Poirier fires 4 shutout innings, while allowing only 1 hit to get the win. Poirier also delivered the games biggest hit with a 2 run triple. Kyle Jordan had 2 hits, scored 2 runs, and knocked in 2. on the basepaths, leadoff hitter Robby Broggi stole 4 bases, and Matthew Hudler had 3 steals as well. Yoav Feingold chipped in with a 2 run single and Ryan McCausland was on base 3 times.
In Game 2, it ws a tight one as the score was 2-2 going into the 5th. Teddy Griswold started for the Bombers and pitched 3 solid innings, giving up 2 unearned runs. Feingold got into a little trouble in the 5th loading the bases with one out, gut got a pop out and strikeout to escape any damage. The Bombers plated 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th with RBIs from Griswold, Max Paladino and Henry Redgate. Jordan worked a 1-2-3 6th to get the save and clinch the sweep. Both teams fielded very well in this one and the Bombers made the most of their chances with smart baserunning by Luke Miele and Ryan McCausland. The Navy return to action with double headers Saturday against Team Mizuno USA Navy in Pembroke, and Sunday against the Kings in Wellesley.
